Devdas is a 2002 iconic Indian period romantic drama directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. It is based on the 1917 Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s novel Devdas. 

8.Hera Pheri: 

Three jobless adult males find the reply to all their money problems if they receive a telephone from a kidnapper. This picture ushered Bollywood in an age of light, intelligent comedies but Bollywood being Bollywood, soon meandered. 

7. Lagaan – 

Lagaan movie is directed by Ashutosh Gowariker. In this movie, the people of a small village in Victorian India stake their future in a game of cricket against their ruthless British rulers.

Swades is an Indian drama film produced by Ashutosh Gowariker, based on the true-life story of a Non-resident Indian (NRI) who returned to his homeland. 

5. Andaz Apna Apna: 

It is made by the great Hrishikesh Mukherjee. 2 slackers competing for the affections of an heiress, unwittingly become her protectors via an evil offender. A cult comedy classic that was a flop as it was launched first. Keeps growing for you personally with each repeated viewing. 

4. Sholay – 

Sholay is a 1975 Indian action-adventure film written by Salim–Javed, directed by Ramesh Sippy, and produced by his father G. P. Sippy. The film is about two criminals, Veeru and Jai (played by Dharmendra and Amitabh Bachchan respectively), hired by a retired police officer (Sanjeev Kumar) to capture the ruthless dacoit Gabbar Singh (Amjad Khan).

3. Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge – 

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge is a 1995 Indian romance film, directed by Aditya Chopra produced by his father Yash Chopra, and written by Javed Siddiqui. The plot revolves around Raj and Simran, two young non-resident Indians, who fall in love during a vacation through Europe with their friends. Raj tries to win over Simran’s family so the couple can marry, but Simran’s father has long since promised her hand to his friend’s son.

2. 3 Idiots – 

3 Idiots is a 2009 Indian Hindi-language comedy-drama film directed by Rajkumar Hirani, and also co-written by him with Abhijat Joshi. The film stars Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Kareena Kapoor, Boman Irani and Omi Vaidya. The film follows the friendship of three students at an Indian engineering college and is a satire about the social pressures under an Indian education system. The film is narrated through parallel dramas, one in the present and the other ten years in the past.

The story of a terminally ill person who wants to live life fully before the inevitable occurs, as told by his own best friend. This movie showcases why Bollywood should remain true to itself in the place of copying Hollywood.
